The label address was 165 W. 46th St. NY, NY. Can somebody confirm that the first 15 titles are the same label? There were at least two other AMBER labels, the best known are perhaps the California and New Jersey labels. |

I was the kid who sang “Marlene,” Reverse the Charges,” “JoAnna,” “Cryin’ Like Fool” on Ambers Records’ No. 230, 231. I recall taking the bus trip from Cleveland to New York with my father at age 15 to meet with Mort (last name escapes me) and arranger, Leroy Kirkland, to cut the recordings. Three of the tunes were originals of mine which I sang into a tape recorder for Leroy. The next evening, all the arrangements were done and we recorded them. I also remember having a nasty cold at the time. I am now a minister of music at a church.
